BLACK CENSUS 2020

The Census is a total count of the U.S. population and territories. As a federal rule, every 10 years, the Federal Government collects a count of all bodies living in the United States. Census information is used to determine how much state, city, and local funding is allocated for resources our community needs. Census data impacts 3 R's: Resources, Redistricting, and Representation.

REPRESENTATION

Determines how many seats each state receives in the U.S. House of Representatives. Arizona has 9 Congressional Seats. We can gain a seat, if we complete the Census.

Why Is Census 2020 Important?

"The U.S. Census is about representation. Representation means, we not only have a seat at the table, but we are sitting and advocating for our voice. It is the freedom to decide things ourselves and not by somebody else. Participating in Census means greater freedom, greater mobility, and greater opportunity."
